Lung

Lung cancer is a type of cancer that develops in the tissues of the lungs. Although lung cancer can spread to other parts of the body, it is still considered lung cancer if it starts in that area.

Lung cancer can be divided into two main types: small-cell lung cancer and non-small-cell lung cancer. Non-small cell lung cancers are divided into adenocarcinoma, large cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Each group has different subtypes depending on how the cells look under a microscope.
